  • The Sunday obligation is one of the Precepts of the Church, duties that the Catholic Church requires of all the faithful. These aren't mere guidelines, but rather a list of things that the Church teaches is necessary for Christians to do in order to advance in the Christian life. For that reason, they are binding under pain of mortal sin, so it's important not to disregard them for anything less than serious reasons.
  • The Sunday obligation can be dispensed for just cause, which may include physical illness or an inability to get to Mass. Any Catholic who is able to attend Mass must make every reasonable effort to be there; you likely need your parent's help or another adult's.
  • Identify the Gospel Reading (Book, chapter and verses) and write what it was about, or specifically words that caught your attention.
  • Briefly write what Father (or Bishop/Cardinal) said in his homily regarding the Scripture Readings.
  • How can you put into action this week, what you heard in the Gospel or from Father's homily.
